A Case of the BUT's As I understand it, the Law of Attraction has three steps. Step 1 is to simply ask for what we want, with feeling. The second step is that the universe responds by sending us what we asked for. The third and most crucial step is that we step aside and allow it to happen. Now, in an ideal world we would need only to ask for whatever we wish and the universe would respond to that asking by giving it to us, immediately. However, most often we get what we don't seem to want. We don't want to be financially challenged, and yet many of us are. We don't want to be sick and yet it seems many of us have sickness in abundance. We don't want to work at jobs we hate, and yet many of us do exactly that. We don't want to be angry or sad or jealous and yet it seems that many of us spend our lives lost in these feelings. We say to ourselves, “I want to have the money to buy the things that will make my life easier.” We hear ourselves ask for this and then when it doesn't promptly show up we say that God has forsaken us or that He doesn't exist or that the Law of Attraction doesn't really work. However, when we ask for something, we're not listening to what we're really asking for, and it goes something like this... “I want to have the money to buy the things that will make my life easier.” and below that request is a big “BUT”. “I want the money, but...I'd need to work a few extra hours to get it, or, the Government would only take most of it in tax anyway, or, I just never have any luck.” It always feels good to think about having that extra money, BUT there always seems to be an under-voice or under-thought that finishes our sentence with a big BUT, and those thoughts never feel good when we think them. Never. A Case of the BUTs When we ask for anything we're sending out a signal to the source of all things that says “Give me this!” Our simple desire for anything is the call to source energy that says, “Hey Source Energy, this is what I want” and Source Energy says “Where shall I put it?” Blocked desire on the other hand says “I really really want this, BUT...” Source Energy, always our faithful provider says, “Your wish is my command” and gives you “THE BUT”, and “THE BUT” is whatever words and feelings that follow the original request. You literally get THAT. You get THE BUT! OUCH!! Take a moment and think of something you may want, but keeps eluding you. That's right, if you look at that thought, there's usually a big “BUT” in there someplace. You say “I'd really like to have more money BUT...I just seem to work and work and never get ahead” So what did you really ask for? You really asked to work and work and never get ahead and that's not getting you any closer to what you really want is it? No. That BUT has a characteristic feeling connected to it that represents the feelings associated with the beliefs or assumptions that underlie it. When you ask for something and that asking feels good when you ask for it, Source Energy brings you THAT or something that makes you feel that way. However, thoughts that have a BUT attached to them seldom feel good and the fruit of those thoughts is unlikely to cause you to feel good when they “show up” in your experience. This gives the phrase “Be careful what you ask for” a whole new meaning doesn't it? Now, I'd like you to think back to the last time you make a request of the universe that didn't appear in your experience. There's a good chance there was a BIG BUT attached to it somewhere. So, what did that BUT feel like? Did it feel good? Probably not. In common vernacular, you were sucking and blowing at the same time, so is it any wonder that you didn't get what you were asking for? Actually you did, BUT, you probably got more of the thing or circumstance you didn't want. So, what can you do to clean up the feeling of that “BUT?” The very first thing is to realize it's there. Start paying attention to your thoughts and how they feel. Start paying attention to the things that you're asking for, and the manner of your asking. Is there a BUT attached to it? Are you asking for something and then in your mind you're already assuming that you'll never get it anyway, so what's the point of asking? That's a BUT. Be clear in your asking and then you will be clear in your receiving. Allow the asking you send out to be unequivocal. Be aware when your asking is mixed or divided. Some of you may think this explanation is way too simple. It can't really work this way can it? My experience tells me it really does work this way. And, when you start paying attention to how your thoughts feel as you think them or speak them, you'll notice there may be a lot of BUTs in there. Once you start releasing how these BUTs make you feel using ZPoint, you'll begin seeing real results almost immediately.
